Visit Market Cross this Friday for a ‘roarsome’ time

Market Cross shopping centre in Selby welcomes a larger-than-life T-Rex this Friday [18 August] to join a day of fun, free activities and face painting.

A seven-foot tall Tyrannosaurus Rex can be found at the centre outside The Works between 11am and 2pm, offering children the full Jurassic experience for the summer holidays.

This realistic, but very friendly, huge dinosaur will be waiting to say hello to children and is looking forward to getting some great photos with the crowds.

Alongside the T-rex meet and greet, there will be lots of dinosaur themed activities going on allowing children to delve into their dinosaur fantasy. Free face painting and children’s crafts will be on offer so youngsters can walk away with their own dinosaur mask or dinosaur themed glider.

The Painting Pot will also be offering a dinosaur painting pottery activity for those children who want to get creative for a little longer.

Lizzie Russell, who is part of the centre management team at Market Cross, said: “We are very excited to be hosting this T-rex takeover at Market Cross. This is something that Selby has never seen before, and we hope it gives children and families a great, affordable day out.”

Visitors will also be able to feast on a dinosaur themed lunch and make their dinosaur day event even more special as Henry’s on New Lane will be offering a Dinosaur Lunch Box Meal throughout the day. This spectacular lunch deal includes a reusable children’s lunch box with a variety of dinosaur themed treats including sandwiches, snacks, sweet treats, and a drink!

Families are urged to also make a stop at The Works who offer a great range of dinosaur books, stationery, crafts, toys and novelty gifts.
