SWEET SUCCESS FOR SELBY AS CHOCOLOTTE CELEBRATES A FANTASTIC OPENING WEEKEND AT MARKET CROSS

Selby’s Market Cross Shopping Centre is celebrating the arrival of its newest independent business, Chocolotte, which officially opened its doors this weekend to an overwhelming welcome from the local community.

Launched by local entrepreneur Charlotte Hanger, Chocolotte is a dessert and milkshake haven offering indulgent treats including rich milkshakes, freshly made crepes and waffles, warm cookie dough, brownies, ice cream and more. The shop caters primarily for takeaway customers, with a cosy seating area for those who want to sit in and enjoy their creations.

Charlotte, who has fulfilled her dream of turning her passion for sweet treats into a business, said she couldn’t be happier with the response so far.

“I’m absolutely blown away by the support we’ve received,” said owner Charlotte Hanger. “The opening weekend was incredible — we were busy from the moment we opened, and the kind words and warm welcome from everyone in Selby meant the world to us. Thank you to every single person who came to see us, shared our posts, or sent well wishes. We already feel part of the community, and we can’t wait to keep serving our amazing customers.”

Charlotte is joined in the business by her husband Jon, and the pair are committed to working with local suppliers wherever possible to support fellow independents in the region.

Melissa Clement, from the Market Cross management team, added: “It’s great to welcome Chocolotte to Market Cross. The opening weekend shows just how much Selby was ready for something fun, fresh and delicious. We’re delighted to have them here and look forward to seeing the business grow.”

Chocolotte is located next to The Works and Yorkshire Cancer Research at Market Cross, joining a vibrant line-up of independents including Coopers Grocers, Websters Butchers, and The Cobblers Last, alongside national favourites such as Home Bargains, Vodafone, and The Works.
