Roarsome family fun day as Dex the Dinosaur visits Market Cross

Families can expect a roarsome day out at Market Cross in Selby this weekend as Dex the Dinosaur will be paying a visit for high fives, photos and hugs.

The friendly dino, who is a main mascot for The Works based at the shopping centre, will be stomping around Market Cross on Saturday and Sunday, February 10 and 11, between 11am and 1pm.

The lovable, huggable plush dinosaur will surely bring a smile to your little one's face during the meet and greet.

And in addition, The Works have a whole collection of Dex toys, gifts and merchandise available in various sizes and colours in-store if you want to buy your little one a memento from the fun day.

isitors to the store are in for a real treat as there will be a competition to ‘name the dinosaur’ with a chance of winning a hamper full of all thing’s dinosaur, including Dex the Dinosaur items.

All proceeds will go towards the store’s chosen charity, The National Literacy Trust.

Melissa Cutforth, Marketing and Events Coordinator for Market Cross, said: “This promises to be a fantastic day of family fun, so come on down and meet Dex.

“He will be happy to pose for pictures and will be giving out hugs and high fives.

“And don’t forget to enter the store competition so you are in with a chance of winning a whole host of goodies.

“This is also a chance to take a look around Market Cross to find out about all of the brilliant discounts and special offers we have across our stores.

“You could also grab a bite to eat or drink at one of our excellent bars, cafes or restaurants.”

In addition, visitors to Market Cross on the Saturday will also be able to take advantage of free face-painting between 11am and 2pm.

Shoppers will also be able to enjoy a live saxophone performance by John Grant between 11am and 2pm on Saturday.

Looking beyond the weekend, there are plenty of events and activities to look forward to at Market Cross during half-term week.

This includes pottery painting craft workshops at The Painting Pot, pancake decorating at Barco Lounge on February 13, and the ever-popular Tapas Thursdays at Henry’s.

Shoppers can also take advantage of the great advantage of instore offers happening across the centre.
