A Selby bar renowned for its tasty tapas, carefully crafted cocktails and delicious Sunday roast dinners has become a hit with foodies posting five-star reviews on Google.
The Thursday Tapas
evenings, which includes popular dishes including delicious Satay Chicken
Skewers, Italian Meatballs and Halloumi Popcorn, have been a hit with diners at
Henry’s Bar based on New Lane, opposite Market Cross.
In addition, the bar’s Friday
night cocktail scene is proving to be a hit with drinkers, along with the
Sunday roast dinner offering.
Customers have been so
impressed with the food and drink offering that many have now taken to posting
five-star reviews onto Google.
And it is hardly
surprising that the food is getting rave reviews.
Chef Martin Stones, aged
42, has 26 years’ worth of experience in the industry and used to work at the
renowned Ilkley restaurant, The Box Tree, which was the first 2 Michelin Starred restaurant outside of
London.
The bar restaurant has so
far earned an average of 4.4 stars out of five based on more than 40 Google reviews.
One reviewer said: “The place is absolutely beautiful! It’s a
bright place without blinding you. The food is absolute amazing, the portion
sizes are 100 per cent worth the prices, and are gorgeous, beautifully
seasoned, I honestly could go on for hours about the food.”
Another praised the
tapas offering and posted: “Food
was great! Tried a variety of dishes and all were really fresh and yummy
(sticky beef cheek and calamari were our favourites). Would definitely
recommend!”
And another happy
customer said: “This pub always has a welcoming and positive vibe. This
evening, we decided to try the tapas menu and can say without doubt it was
consistently the most enjoyable and varied tapas we’ve had in years!”
Bar owner Keith Tiplady,
aged 53, said: “We are absolutely delighted to hear that so many of our
customers are pleased with our food and drink offering – the reviews our
customers have been posting are incredible.
“We are a small and
talented team trying to do our best to offer something new and exciting in
Selby and it makes all that hard work worthwhile when you see the feedback we
are getting.
“If you’ve not been
to see us, come along and see what all the fuss is about!”
Chef Martin added:
“There’s no bigger compliment you can have as a chef than to have happy
customers – so it is so nice to see that people are enjoying the food.
“It really does
inspire us in the kitchen to be better and to keep upping our game.”
Henry’s is putting
on a special offer for Valentine’s Day of two selected mains and a bottle of
house wine for £50.
