Family fun plans are hatching in Market Cross this Easter

The team at Market Cross shopping centre in Selby will be hosting their annual ‘Easter Eggstravaganza’ on Saturday [30 March].

Entertainment and activities are planned throughout the day with the event starting at 11am. There will be plenty of fun for youngsters to get involved in including an Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the shops around the centre, free face painting and a free Easter themed craft station.

The Easter bunny will also be hopping into the centre offering youngsters the chance for photos, hugs and high fives.

Melissa Cutforth, Event Co-ordinator for Market Cross, said: “We are excited to host this year’s ‘Easter Extravaganza’ at Market cross for the whole community to enjoy.

“There is a great variety of free activities and entertainment for families to take part in to kick start the Easter celebrations.”

The popular Selby baker, Cray Bakes, will be joining the centre on Saturday with a pop-up offering a great selection of freshly baked tray bakes, cookies and brownies.

The free community events programme for Market Cross kicked off last year with a free Gruffalo trail running for several weeks, a dinosaur event and entertainment held for Halloween.

Families can also pick up everything needed for cooking up the perfect Easter roast from the centre or for those not wanting to cook they can book a table at Henry’s for one of their delicious Sunday roasts.

Stores and restaurants will be open normal trading hours on Saturday however these may reduce slightly on Good Friday and Easter Monday with the majority remaining closed on Easter Sunday.
